Frank Zappa would have been 71 today had he not passed away in 1993. Both my husbutt and myself have a big love for Mr. Zappa, I even went so far as to have his portrait tattooed on my arm a few years ago (thus ensuring I never have a "normal" job again.) I like to think Frank would be proud of me for that, but he'd probably think I was an idiot.

Great video! I'm old enough to remember when this originally aired.
ReplyDeleteI also love, and miss, Frank Zappa. I used to have a "Zappa For President" bumper sticker on my '58 Thunderbird. (Right next to my "Cut Off Reagan's Arms" and "Skateboarding Is Not A Crime" stickers.)
It always warms my heart that one of the first images you see when walking into the museum section of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a twelve foot tall b&w image of Frank, dressed in a suit, testifying before Congress on the issue of government censorship of artists. Not only a great musician, but a brilliant man who fought for artists' right and freedom of personal expression.
Rock on Frank! May your music and message continue to inspire us.
